Photoshop Tutorials Logo Design for Beginners Step by Step
Step 1: Create New Transparent Layer For Logo
First step for
designing a logo is that to determine logo size in your mind and create a new
layer from menu bar File -> New.
After that, a dialog box will appear containing
particular details. First of all change the layer name as Logo with default
name Untitled-1 and fix Preset as Custom.
Set the values
of Width and Height of logo in next option. Hang on mind Width measurement as
horizontal and Height takes as vertically. Set Width 1 Inch and Height .5
Inch.
Now set the resolution it is a vital
feature and associated to your logo graphic results. If you’ll set
low-resolution than logo graphics seem blur and don’t give worthy results. Establish
always good resolution for clear graphics results. Now set 200 pixels / Inch with RGB 8
bit color mode.
Now time to
select the Background Content, for logos use always Transparent Background
Content because it’s show only logo without extra background. Always keep in
mind Transparent Sheet save in PNG Format.

Step 2: Add Shape For Logo By Custom Shape Tool
For designing a
logo you have to keep some ideas in your mind. You must know what you want in
the logo although it may icon, text or image etc. Let’s construct a shape with
Custom Shape Tool just select tool and select the figure from shape drop down
menu and draw it in logo sheet.
A shape has
created with black color at this moment some modifications are required to
attain desired logo. For modifications use Pen Tool which is used technically.
Now choice a Pen Tool, press Ctrl key and click on the diagram some
transformations appear on diagram edges.
Just moderate
little bit bend the diagram from the square box by pressing Ctrl Key with Left Click. If you want to round certain edge of the diagram than
